Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. Today we had a rent rod charter with a really good group, so we spent the majority of the day filling the bags with sculpin, reds, whitefish, lingcod, sheephead, etc. Late in the day we had sand bass, calico bass, a very nice halibut, and a mako shark.

We're on the first of a 2-day trip, and found a little school, a handful of the 40 to 45 pound fish in the dark and just sat on it and started picking away at it after daybreak. Working on a slow plunker still, picking fish in the same area that we caught fish in the dark. Probably up to 25+ Bluefin, anywhere from 20 to 60 pounds. A little smaller-sized fish after daybreak, but anyway, still plunking away. Nice grade fish and pretty nice weather, a little showery but all good. Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. We had more of the same thing today in beautiful, flat, calm weather. We started off with really good bottom fishing, catching sculpin, big reds, all the whitefish you could want, lingcod, sheephead, and things like that. In the afternoon, it was pretty much aquarium-style fishing. We had a nice load of anchovy, which helped us get really active on the calico bass and nice barracuda to go with it. We started off the morning getting some surface action going with the calico bass and barracuda. We then went over to get our sculpin, and then we went and did a little cod fishing that was really productive. In the afternoon, we went back and had non-stop action on the bass and barracuda, and we picked up one short white seabass. Overall, it was good fishing with good times.

Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. We had another beautiful day with really nice weather--flat and calm, with a little bit of a breeze. Our 18 anglers caught limits of sculpin, 23 barracuda, 13 calico bass, and 75 whitefish. We had pretty good barracuda fishing with good surface action overall and a lot of shorts in the mix.The flyline was pretty hot today. We had pretty good fishing with a mix of fishing the bottom for big sculpin, and fishing the surface for really nice-sized calico bass, barracuda, and plenty of shorts. Rick checked in for the Toronado out of Pierpoint Landing. Hey guys. Finally, this Friday night, we have a 2-day trip going out this weekend with openings still available. It's $595 per person, including a dinner on the way out. Departs at 6 pm. "Tuna, offshore banks, or bust" will primarily be our target for this trip. This trip is a FOR SURE GO. They did just get in from a trip on Monday with 47 bluefin for 16 anglers. It looked like a pretty dang good trip. A lot of the fish being caught in the shallows on the anchor and by drifting. Some exciting news, the Tornado has changed ownership. Joe has sold the boat and is moving on. The crew is excited to have new owners who are committed to improving the experience. We have a lot of plans for the boat. Some improvements are already lined up, coming in the next couple weeks, and couple months. Also, a new website should be in the works, more user-friendly and comprehensive, with new contact information for us. If you guys are interested, give us a call. Have a good one.

Mike checked in for the Toronado out of Pierpoint Landing. We docked up last night returning from a two-day trip with 47 bluefin for the 16 anglers on board, which is encouraging. The fish have moved onto the offshore banks. 40 of our 47 fish were caught in the shallows, either on anchor or by drifting. That's great news, ending the last half of August and September for sure. Some exciting news that Toronado has changed ownership, Joe has sold and is moving on. Crew is excited to have new owners who are committed to improving the experience on board with plans for improvements already being made for the coming weeks and months. A website is also in the works, being more user-friendly and comprehensive, with new contact information and email address.

Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. Just really good fishing all around today. Things definitely changed. We had a couple of days of really gloomy weather and wind, and strong currents, and then everything just kind of fouled up. But today things changed around. The water cleaned up real nice, calico bass fishing was great, basically biting every bait. It was like easy aquarium fishing with lots of calico bass, a little bit of sand bass in it, and a few barracuda. The bottom fishing was really good as well. Obviously the sculpin are still biting, and we were catching those along with really nice reds, whitefish, sheephead, and everything else. So all around good fishing on the coast here, which still remains the best. Catalina Island is still pretty slow with not much happening over there. Still our best option is coastal fishing with the really good fishing we had today. I hope that continues tomorrow.

Ray checked in for the Toronado out of Pierpoint Landing. We are just returning from our 2-Day charter to the offshore grounds and also the Outer Banks. We had a 41 bluefin up to about 70 pounds, some on the anchor and some off in the deeper water there. We also caught a couple of yellowtail mixed in there and a few bottom fish. This was mainly a group that wanted to fish mostly offshore and concentrate on that bigger bluefin, so we stayed offshore a lot. But everybody had a good time. We had good fishing. Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. We had a really nice day today for us. Decent weather, a little bit of wind, but pretty nice weather overall. I think our count for our 32 anglers was limits of sculpin, 16 calico bass, 10 sand bass, 6 barracuda, and 26 whitefish for our day today. So pretty good fishing for us. We got a little bait this morning, so that was nice to go do a little surface fishing after our sculpin and get a decent pick on the bass up to 6 pounds.
