Ryan checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. We had a little better than 40 people on the boat here. We caught limits of the sculpin to start off. We ended up catching our limits of the red snapper and lots and lots of other rockfish to go along with it. We saw a little bit of sign of things to come here guys, so we're probably going to be changing up gears here. This next coming week, I'm going to start focusing on more of the surface stuff here. The water is really starting to look nice, warmed up, and we're starting to see a little bit of fish.I'm hoping to kind of mix it up a little bit more come next week. We are going out FOR SURE tomorrow with a light load, so if you've got some good gear, and you're ready to do battle, we're going to start out tomorrow at the islands, with the yellowtail and white sea bass. The seabass have stayed pretty consistent out there, and along with that they're picking up some big yellows. Joe has the latest report for you below.

Yeah, hey, guys. Ray on the Toronado checking in here to remind you we've got a two-day trip targeting white seabass, yellowtail, over at the islands. Friday night, May 23, 8 PM departure. Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. Another good day of quality and quantity. Our Thursday group, liked to fish deep, so we did that. Beautiful weather, nice blue water, lots of biting fish. Some of the biggest chilies we've had all year. That being said, going into the weekend here, stuff is actually starting to pick up. There's barracuda around, bonito, bass, and things are starting to happen here. We're looking forward to doing a lot of that in the next week or two. Andrew has the latest fish report for you below.

Randy checking in for Pierpoint Landing. Tomorrow we have the Enterprise going for sure with the super light load, 6 a.m. departure, fish and rockfish. This coming weekend we have both boats online. The City of Long Beach will be going for sure Saturday, the Enterprise as well. And both boats are online for Monday as well, Memorial Day, so make a reservation, come on out.

Hey guys, Joe on the Tornado. Hey, we had a pretty good trip there last trip. Ray told you all about it. A lot of chances, and unfortunately, we missed them. We think we were hooking those things in bull kelp, and they take you right to the bottom. Anyway, a lot of seabass out there, and they did their typical thing with the seabass. They made their circles, and every time they'd come through, we'd hook one. A lot of shorts out there also, which to me, I like to see that. Shows that we're gonna have some fish there later on.

Hey guys, I dropped our price. We wanna get off the dock. I dropped the price for a one-day overnight to 185, and that starts tomorrow night, Tuesday night. So grab a group of guys, and we wanna go fish. For the seabass, looks like there's some yellows out there at the outer islands, like Clemente, and we wanna fish this stuff. Ryan checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. Another beautiful day of weather again for our group. We had lots of bottom fishing action. Our 37 anglers caught limits of red snapper, limits of sculpin, 65  miscellaneous rockfish, 2 sand bass, and 35 whitefish. So, a really good day for our group. The recommended tackle is 8-10 ounces of weight, leadheads, size 2 and 1-0 hooks and plastics, if you've got some. People fishing the plastics and leadheads were catching really big sculpin today. We had 56 people and we ended up with limits of sculpin, limits of the red snapper, some grouper, and other odds and ends to go along with it. We didn't catch limits of rockfish, but we caught some quality ones that wanted a bite there for a little while. We didn't have a whole lot of time after our sculpin, but we caught some whitefish in the mix too. All together, a good day of fishing for the amount of people that we had. If you are planning on joining us tomorow, I recommend the 10-ounce weight, make sure you bring some lead heads, and some number one hooks for the live bait and strips of squid. We picked a few halibut, one legal, and the rest were just a little bit short. So overall, pretty fair fishing at the island. Ray has the latest fish report for you below.

We caught limits of sculpin real quick and pretty much limits of rockfish pretty quick as well, with some other odds and ends in the mix. Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. We had a lot of kids on the boat, and they did really well in the rock fishing. I was actually kind of surprised they hung with us, fishing in like 300 feet or so. Our 14 anglers had limits of red snapper, limits of sculpin, 35 bocaccio, 70 miscellaneous rockfish, and 2 sand bass. So, not too bad of a day here today. We fished the bottom most of the day. I'd recommend to bring at least 10 to 12 ounces if we're fishing the rockfish, 10 to 12 ounces with size 2 and 1-0 hooks. When we go fish our sculpin, we've been switching to 8 ounces and fishing the lead heads and plastics. Make sure you guys bring an array of tackle out. Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. Happy Mother's Day today! Ended up being a really nice trip for our 22 anglers. We had limits of red snapper, limits of sculpin, 110 miscellaneous rockfish, 65 grouper, and 15 whitefish to round up the day there. Really really good fishing all around with action all day. If you would like to join us the recommended tackle for the rockfish is 10 to 12 ounces of weight and size 2 to 1.0 hooks. For the sculpin, make sure you have lead heads and plastics for those. The guys fishing the plastics were catching the big ones, and people fishing the hooks were catching the really small ones. So it makes a big difference having those lead heads. And there's good reports from way down south, but they got to have the warm water to swim in to get up here, but they're coming. A little bit's starting to happen.
